Below we have listed some basic information about holidaying
in France
Please read this as it may improve your holiday if you have not been to France

Driving
The roads in France are generally of good quality and much quieter than those in the UK. a few important items to remember are:

Milk
Supermarkets, in the main, sell fresh milk, most smaller village shops however just sell UHT milk.
Red Cap milk is normally Full Fat Milk (Lait Frais - Entier)
Blue Cap milk is normal Half Fat Milk (Lait Frais - Demi-Ecreme)
Green Cap milk (Lait Ribot) is sour milk, do not confuse this with UK Semi-Skimmed Milk!
Supermarkets
Open Monday to Saturdays In Locmine, 5 mins by car, are 3 large Supermarkets, Intermarche, Champion and Leader Price, generally open approximately 8.00 am to 7.00 pm
Also near to Le Grange Gites are two smaller Supermarkets that are open on Sunday Mornings and Bank Holidays mornings 9.00 am to 12.00 midday (in France Bank Holidays are also generally taken on the date rather than the nearest Monday, so they can be on any day of the week)
Sunday / Bank holiday Supermarkets:
Eco-Marche (a smaller Intermarche) in Requiny - 8 mins by car
8 till late in Locmine - 5 mins by car
Both shops sell fresh milk etc
BBQ's and Snacks
We have available at our House, BBQ Charcoal and Lighting Fluid if required, also a small selection of Ice-Creams, Chocolates, Milk and Soft Drinks (a list is provided in the Gite welcome booklet)
Village Shops
Our village Moreac has 3 Bars, a Post Office, Cash Point, 2 small Supermarkets, Butchers, Hair Dressers and 3 Bakeries normally there is at least one of these open, every day. Some of the shops in the villages and towns are closed on Mondays, because they are open on Saturdays!, so Mondays may seem a bit quiet, all major shops and supermarkets however remain open.
Restaurants
There is a restaurant Moreac (lunch times only), but there are many others in Locmine (5 mins in the car) open all days of the week, there are also some takeaways and a Italian Pizza / Pasta restaurant.
Banks and Cash Points
Our village Moreac has a cash point which is also in English!, it accepts most major Debit / Credit Cards, Also in Locmine (5 mins in the car) there are many banks
Health
Our village Moreac, has a Doctor, Dentist and a Pharmacy, should you have any problems that occur.
The Gites
The Gites are well equipped, light and airy, clean and tidy, with all necessary items for your holiday, we provide a free of charge welcome pack, all bed linen is included, in addition we can provide towels, we can also provide shopping and house hold packs to help you have a relaxing start to your holiday, all Gites have their own washing machine, all of our prices include water and electricity, we have ample parking and each Gite has its own private garden.
